Day to Night Double Leopard & Making My Own Infinity Scarf

Happy Thursday everyone!   The weekend is almost here and you know most of us are always working for the weekend (at least I know I do)!

Today I decided to do a little bit of a different post.  I am doing a look that I wore to work that could pass for everyday or maybe casual Friday for most of us.  Here is what I wore:

Then I got to thinking about easily this outfit could go from day to a casual night out just by a switch of the shoes and taking off the jacket:

Another thing I got to thinking about when getting dressed was that I really wanted an infinity scarf, but I didn't have one.  So I took matters into my own hands.

I started off with one of my long scarves, folded it long ways, and safety pinned the ends together

Once all safety pins are secure, wrap the scarf around your neck twice

Voila! You have a homemade infinity scarf!  It's not rocket science, but I wonder why I never thought of it before.  It's much cleaner and less of a hassle than dealing with tying a knot and having to play with the knot all day.
I guess I am full of thoughts in this post.  It's amazing how a little bit of determination can spark your creativity buttons.

Have you ever had a  lightbulb go off and you think "Duh, why didn't I think of that?"

  1. Loving the leopard today, especially the pumps. I own several leopard scarves (one in the classic colors, like yours), the others in fun colors. I will try making one of them into an Infity Look. ;-)

  7. That is a great idea for the scarf! I have tried twisting scarves into an infinity scarf on my own too and haven't made it look nice, pinning it would definitely help! I want to try that out now!

I love both sets of shoes and how they each transform the outfit! Very nice overall!

  11. That infinity scarf idea is genius! I love infinity scarves but only have 1 in my closet so this is a great tip. I love outfits that can transition easily from day to night with just a few simple changes.

  14. Duh! moment: necklaces can easily be shortened and lengthened. To shorten, put necklace on, pinch behind neck at desired length, knot or hairtie at pinched point. To lengthen, rather than hooking necklace loop to clasp, hook loop to clasp of a (non-elastic) bracelet, and the loop of a bracelet to clasp of necklace. I did a post about it here.

  15. Love it! I've done the tying a knot trick to make an infinity scarf, but I like your way better.

  16. I actually wore my leopard scarf to work in an infinity loop after standing for a few long minutes in front of the mirror debating on a way to wear it. Great minds think alike, eh? ;)

These two looks are quite different though you haven't actually changed anything drastic. Love how appropriate (and stylish) they look for both scenarios.

  18. Instead of using safe pin I just tie the two end of the scarf together.

Such a cute look for a Friday work outfit.

  19. I'm going to try this! I have exactly one scarf that might just work.

  20. Great idea! I had on a scarf the other day with the ends flopping around and thought it would be great to sew them together. This is a less permanent, yet highly effective solution!

Thanks for the tip and TGIF!
