Red on Red with Purple (and a bee attack)

Cardigan (Target), Floral Button Up (Old Navy), Jeans (Kohl's), Boots (Rocket Dog), Necklace (?)

It was a beautiful fall day yesterday and the weather man says more is to come this week in Ohio!  I was sitting in my vehicle in the Kohl's parking lot on my lunch break enjoying the great weather just chatting on the phone with my hubby when a bee flew into my window.  I am pretty sure I made a fool of myself for all Kohl's patrons to see.  Not only did I scream in my husband's ear, but I jumped out of my car and started dancing around like my feet were on fire.  So embarrassing!

Have you had anything embarrassing happen to you in public recently?

  1. The color of that cardigan is simply divine. The red on red is oh so fall.

And take heart, I would've done the same thing (or more) if there was a bee in the car! Glad you didn't get stung.

    Have a great day!

  3. Hi Heather. I am not really afraid of insects (spiders, bugs) but bees are a little different cause they sting you, it hurts, it bubbles and it gets rash-y, red & such. I would have probably jumped too.

You know I love Red & anything in its family so this Raspberry Red Cardigan w/ the Pretty Floral Blouse (glad you posted an up-front pic so I could see the cute print) is something I would wear in a hot minute. So I am pinning this look. Also, hopefully the weather stays nice & warm-ish for you guys.

  6. Oh......so many embarrassing things.....happens fairly often. in September my son and I went to a festival and I tripped on a crack in the sidewalk..... Fell on my side and skidded a few feet down the sidewalk in front of hundreds of people......most embarrassing was that people were stepping over me to get where they were going.....no one stopped to help! Of course my precious boy was so concerned......

  7. I would do the exact same thing Heather! I hate bees - mostly because in nearly 31 years of life I have never been stung and I think it's making the fear of it happening worse as each year passes! I would definitely be screaming if I was you!

The most embarrassing thing I ever did in public was one time we were at dinner with my in-laws. We were going to a play afterward and my husband went to a coffee shop across the street from the restaurant to get a mocha. My mother in law was drinking regular coffee at the restaurant. My hubby was gone a really long time and I said very loudly "how long does it take to get a cup of coffee?" Our waitress came rushing over to refill my mother in law's coffee cup thinking I said it for her benefit! My cheeks were sooo red.

Speaking of red - this outfit is so cute! I love the rolled sleeves showing more of the flower detail!

  8. The red on red is so pretty! I feel you with that bee. I usually duck when pigeons fly too low and sometimes I will scream when they get too close to me. It's embarrassing but better than being touched by a piegon y'know.

  10. You look great, Heather! I've totally had that bee attack thing happen. It was bad--caught in my very long hair--and dancing around like the scene from Tommy Boy and "killer bees from Mexico!"

  11. I'm sure I would do the same thing. I am petrified of bees, wasps, etc. I made my husband come home from work one time to kill a wasp that was flying around the house. I can't handle it. Love the patterned blouse and cardigan together. Super cute!

  12. Oh no! I am pretty sure I would have done the same thing had a bee flown that close to my face - it's a scary thing! Either way, I'm sure you didn't look too much a fool. Especially in this adorable outfit - I love the color combination and that floral print is really darling!

  13. Bees creep me out too! I got stung all the time as a kid. I'd like to think that's because I'm so sweet. :) Anyone else in your position would have screamed too!

  23. At least the bee didn't sting you! Years ago, when i lived in western montana, the hummingbirds would have dive-bombed you wearing such a true red. It happened to me when i wore red.
