Blush Pants, Tan Sweater, and Leopard Combo

Happy Monday!  We are postponing our Mother/Daughter Remix until Wednesday.  Kayla is reading like a madwoman (a 900 page book) for a report due on Tuesday, so we didn't have a chance to pull our looks together this weekend.  Be sure to check back on Wednesday.  We will be remixing my neon pink cardigan from THIS post.

Sweater (Forever 21, last winter), Blush Colored Pants (Kohl's, Apt. 9, recent), Leopard Loafers (Target, recent), Necklace (Dress Barn, old)

This is another new color combo that I have never worn before, but I loved the end result.  These blush colored pants were another purchase from my Christmas gift cards.  With all the after Christmas sales, I was able to really stretch my dollar.  The all neutral outfit is a really pretty combo and then the leopard flats were thrown in for a splash of fun.
Many of you have commented on my hair in recent posts (thank you for noticing).  I did get some long layers added a couple of weeks ago.  Instead of straightening it like I normally do, I have been blow drying it and using some volumizing products.  Let me tell you, getting older sucks.  Since having two kids and getting into my 30s, I have noticed my hair is so thin.  I cheated on my normal hairstylist because she wasn't available on the day I could come in.  The stylist who did my hair was awesome and taught me all kinds of new tips on styling my hair.  My main request was that it had to be done in less than 15 minutes.  Being a busy mom and working woman, I don't have time to spend hours on my hair.
Be sure to check back tomorrow for another rare weekly post from Kayla and a Stay or Go Feature from me on Thursday.  My closet has been purged and organized, but I have a few things that I am on the fence about and I need your opinion!
Have you cheated on your hairstylist?  Did you like the end result?  Have any of you been purging your closets in the new year?

  1. I noticed your hair too! It does look great. And this color combo is awesome. Pastels and light neutrals looks very fresh together.

I cheated on my regular hair dresser and never went back. My new girl is so much more creative.

  2. I did notice the full olume on your hair too and for that it looks longer, as well. Great job - new stylist. I would so 'cheat' on my stylist too if I found one better. We are the clients after all.

I absolutely love your new Blush Pants which look gorgeous with the Camel Turtleneck Sweater & those amazing little Leopard Loafers. Ahh I am in love!

As far as this week's looks for me, I loved Lynne's Dress. She always looks nice - I agree. I loved not one but two looks of yours, it was so hard for me to choose (it usually is). I am off for a nap now. Thank you for commenting.

  3. Heather, your hair does look great. I would be interested in reading a review about the volumizing hair products you are using now.

I love this outfit. It really looks fantastic. The pants are so pretty, they make me want to go out and find a pair of blush trousers.

I spent my entire day yesterday purging the closet in my mom cave/office. In fact, I just purged the entire room and I feel so much less stressed about it now! I love to purge and organize!

  6. First off - I love this outfit, I may try something similar this week in fact! Though I do not have cute leopard loafers like that, they have been on my list and I think I just need to head to Target and treat myself!

Secondly - I have cheated on my hairstylist to the point that I just don't go to a "hairstylist" anymore! I do the Great Clips thing, with a pixie, it's too expensive to maintain going to a nice salon frequently so I kind of gave up on it. But I do splurge on hair products instead. I really do like how your hair has been looking lately!

And thirdly, you already saw I cleaned out my closet this weekend too. Feels good doesn't it?

  7. I also noticed the hair looking more va-va-voom! I am so with ya on the thirties and thinning hair! I recently purchased some collagen supplements from Costco- it got great reviews for helping hair growth and thickness. I'll let ya know how it goes!
As for the outfit post: I love it! I have some skinnies that are probably more of a light pink but I love to wear them- they are so versatile. But I don't think I've worn them with camel ever. Thanks for the inspiration- I've got a new way to wear them!

  8. I'm wearing my blush pants on the blog today too! This is a really great color combo, I'll have to keep it in mind for next time.

  9. a great neutral look! Stretching dollars with after Christmas sales is awesome. In my 20's I had an amazing hairdresser who quit and joined her husband'a business. I had used her for 7 years. I literally floundered until I found my current one 7 years ago and I wouldn't go elsewhere. I am reorganizing my room and adding in two bookcases for purse and boot storage this weekend, been pushed back from my flu outbreak..

  14. I would have never put the two colors together....but it looks great! The leopard loafers are perfect with the outfit!
I agree with you about getting old and thinning hair!!

  15. I never would have thought about this colour combination either but it looks really chic. The shoes are a great touch. Your hair does look fantastic...does this mean there's a pending divorce with your current hairdresser?

  18. I don't think I own a blush pair of trousers, but I love them! Such a soft colour palette and the leopard was a nice addition.

  19. LOVE this blush and tan combo! Definitely a winner! And do love the volumized hair - especially if it takes less than 15 minutes! Cheating on your normal hair person worked in your favor!

  21. Love the blush color, not a color I can pull of with my skin tone, but I do love it so
    Yeah, for learning hair tricks!
Sometimes I will go to someone new, just to see what they do different to my hair

  22. Yes...I did cheat on my hairstylist but in my defense his ego was getting to big. To this day, I still think he cuts my hair the best, it was the first stylist I went to in Chicago. But that attitude? Oh man I just couldn't let it go anymore. Love the combination and your hair does look great. My mom also noticed thinning hair in her 30s after she had my brother at 38.

  23. It's like those colors were born together! Love it. Sometimes you need to cheat on your hair stylist to spice things up!

  24. Heather, you look like you have a ton of hair. Sometimes long hair just needs some layering to fluff up. And sometimes seeing a new stylist on the side can lead to, um, getting a new stylist :)

Love this combination of pretty neutrals. You look comfortable, yet professional.

  25. I am loving these soft, feminine neutrals, Heather! I know you'll be super on-trend with the blush pants this spring for sure. And may I just say, your hair looks so fabulous today!!! ~Sarah of Sarah Hulbert Style

P.S. See you ladies took away the Name/url option. Were you having problems? I will just identify myself as I did above, since I can't comment without that option as a .com blogger

  26. Hey there! First visit to your blog - I found you guys via Bravoe Runway. Love the concept of a mother / daughter blog, what a lovely idea!

  27. Hi, Just found your blog and I totally relate with your idea of "mums" not having time for their hair because I'm in my thirties too and have three kids. Nice blog.

  28. LOVE this color combo. I'm going to try it ASAP. I won a gift certificate to another hair salon but I feel bad cheating on my hair stylist...is that silly?

  29. Inexpensive Womens Pants who did my hair was awesome and taught me all kinds of new tips on styling my hair. My main request was that it had to be done in less than 15 minutes.
