Pinspiration week continues! In case you missed the kick off yesterday, check out our Mother/Daughter post HERE. So many of us pin things to our boards and don't actually turn them into real life. This week, I wanted to put some of these to the test and see what I could come up with.
The temperatures are F-R-E-E-Z-I-N-G so you may see a lot of layering and pants going on this week. Like seriously, into the negative temps from the wind chills! Brrrr! Most likely no skirts or dresses for this go-round, but I plan on doing another Pinspiration week once the weather calms down a bit.
One of my criteria when pinning an outfit to my Fashion Inspiration Board is to be able to create something similar with items already in my closet. I knew that this outfit could pretty much be copied to a "T". It turned out exactly how I wanted it and I absolutely love it! You can never go wrong with a red blazer, a camel sweater, black skinnies, and a pair of congac knee high boots.
Let's see how the rest of the week pans out and hopefully everything else will turn out as well as this outfit.
Have you put your Pinspiration to real life yet? I would love to hear in the comments what you have done!

Red and camel look so good together. And brrr...I feel for you with those cold temps! Do recipes count? If so, then I've been pin-spired a lot lately, much to my family's delight!
ReplyDeleteYou look so chic and sophisticated. Great blazer. It's very cold here, too.
ReplyDeleteLove the look...nothing beats a great red blazer:)
ReplyDeleteI am guilty of pinning alot of looks and never recreating...BUT I often pin things to my "fashion wants" and end up buying them...

You look great as always. I Always love your Colored Blazer Looks.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Baby is here but I am finally getting back to Blogger. I had pre-scheduled the last 2 posts.
I like to use Pinterest when I want to find new styling ideas for certain pieces in my closet. I haven't been much of recreating outfits from my pins, but I admire how well some people can do it adding their own personal twist. This is a great look for the cold weather, camel, red and black always look like a great color combo for me! Btw, great job on all the outfits that was recreated in your previous post using pinspirations!

I like this - I've been considering mixing black and camel shades together. And I like your boots better than the ones in the outfit you pinned!!
ReplyDeleteI have done a couple of Pinspired outfits - this fall I did my red jeans, a black and white spotted blouse and a black blazer styled outfit that I had seen. I have a few others I'm looking forward to trying. I can't wait to see what else you'll put together this week!
That's a really great rule to have-- too many times this past year (2012), I have pinned looks and purchased items to that I can replicate the looks. As you can imagine, that burns a hole in the wallet quite quickly. Love the red and camel together!

A Journey in Style
When I used to live in the Midwest, my winter outfits were not pretty--lots of layering sweaters and wearing gloves inside. I've been looking for a red blazer for a while because it would go with everything. I love this look!
ReplyDeletei love this outfit and what a great idea to get pinsperation!!! the red is striking on you and i love the color combo with neutrals and one stand out bright color!!! i'm not a huge pinner because i fear that if i actually get into it i won't be able to stop :) haha, but maybe i should because it looks like fun. i have been pinning some cute organization things though here and there.
