I was really itching to wear a dress or a skirt! The weather finally started to thaw out a bit from all the snow we had and I decided to go for it. When it gets cold and snowy, I crave warmth so it's been awhile since I have ventured out in a dress or a skirt.
As much as I adore color in my wardrobe, there is something about an all neutral outfit that I like every now and then. I try not to get into an all dark color palette during the colder months, but this outfit was just too comfy. The striped cardigan and leopard scarf was the perfect topper to my sweater dress, boot socks, and my new favorite boots.
Do you tend to wear pants more in the colder months or do you brave the cold and stick with your dresses and skirts?

You look completely cozy and comfy in your sweater dress. I don't venture out in dresses in winter either, and I live in Texas. But I would definitely try this! Cute pattern combos.
ReplyDeleteNormally I do pants in the winter, but this year I'm really trying to do more skirts...I'm embracing tights in a big way! (I'm the ultimate winter wimp...I live in Texas and it really doesn't get that bad here for very long.)

ReplyDeleteAs you've seen, I've been forcing myself into skirts and dresses this week! I usually reach for pants in the winter! Next week is going to be brutal cold, so I'll be back to pants then for sure!

ReplyDeleteI definitely haven't been wearing skirts/dresses as much as I want to. Lots of leggings and long sweaters/sweater dresses (i guess that counts) because the temp here has been in the teens. BRRR!

What a beautiful, cozy outfit. You know I love Gray - one of my fave colors. I love your cardigan and scarf. You have mixed colors in the same shades here but have also done some pattern-mixing. Those boots are still AMAZING. Heather - one of my most favorite outfits of yours, so far this year. And I have noticed you have done pants mostly the last 3-4 weeks.
ReplyDeleteI tend to do a lot more pants in colder climates but that is normal since I am such a skirt and dress girl so in the summer, pants are worn the least.

I try to make it a goal to wear a dress or skirt at least once a week in the winter...to stay out of the pants rut.

I've been wearing skirts and dresses all week too. The temperature has been unseasonably warm, and so I've been enjoying it while I can!

I love neutrals and especially when done with pattern and textures like this.I don't live where it gets extremely cold, but do revert to more pants during winter months.
