Can you believe it's already the start of the first full week of February? Our first remix for the month of February is this black and white polka dot cardigan from Old Navy. This was found at Plato's Closet with tags still on it. We thought it was a pretty good investment for $7.00 and we think this will be quite a remixable item added to our wardrobes.
Due to time constraints over the weekend, we only ended up squeezing two looks each instead of our normal three, but we have many more outfit ideas in the works for this baby! For both of our first looks we decided to go really girly and the second looks more casual.
On Kayla: Dress & Belt (Old Navy), Shoes (Thrifted)
On Heather: Dress & Sash (c/o eShakti), Shoes (Target), Necklace (Kohl's)
On Kayla: Pants (New York & Co), Boots (Meijer), Scarf (gift)
On Heather: Polka Dot Button Up (Thrifted), Jeans (Kohl's), Shoes (Plato's Closet), Necklace (gift)
In addition to Super Bowl festivities, another reason we only were able to squeeze in two outfits each this week was because Kayla went prom dress shopping! Sorry for the blurry picture, but here is the dress she picked out. Isn't it gorgeous?
Linking up with The Monday Mingle...
If you went to prom, what color was your dress? Do you still love it now like you loved it back then?

Kayla looks so pretty in that coral dress and I love the retro feel of your look. You look great in red lipstick. And prom dress shopping, how fun!
ReplyDeleteLove the prom dress. I loved dress shopping with my daughter can't believe she is 21... My favorite look is Kayla with the leopard scarf, unexpected!
ReplyDeleteOMG! That prom dress is so beautiful! Gorgeous design and vivid color. Great choice.
ReplyDeleteMy "prom" was two years ago and I still cherish my short pink dress. :)
Fun sweater! Polka dots are my favorite right now. I love the casual looks, but I really love how you both dressed it up with the reds. Fun.
ReplyDeleteKayla - gorgeous dress!! You look great!
I went to prom both my junior and senior years - junior year my dress was periwinkle and senior year it was kind of a celedon colored green. And yes, I still love both dresses and I still have them - doubt they'd still fit though!
Love this remix, esp the girly looks. Gtg, baby is crying, she just woke up.
ReplyDeleteGreat remix! I love polka dots.
ReplyDeleteThat prom dress is gorgeous!
I decided to go to my prom at the last minute. I only had a few days to find a dress and I lived in a pretty small city with limited shops. I ended up with a dreadful white frock that makes me cringe when I look at the pictures.
Kayla looks beautiful! Great dress. The polka dot sweater is really cute too, you ladies did a good job styling it.

Kayla looks lovely in her prom dress! I love the flowy skirt, and I bet it will look amazing when you're dancing. My prom dress was skin-tight, black, strapless, and had a slit up to my thigh. I was a little wilder in high school. :)
ReplyDeletei love the leopard/polka mix and the double polka mix. great looks! and GORGEOUS prom dress! how exciting!!
ReplyDeleteFrom one Heather to another: Great looks on both of you!

The prom dress is stunning on her. I also love how you two remixed these polka dots! Well done. xo Have a wonderful week. /Madison
ReplyDeletelove the remix. Oh I cry, I can't imagine Maggie being that old!!
ReplyDeleteWow! I love all of the remixes especially the dots and leopard and the double dots. And what a dress Kayla!!! WHOOO!
ReplyDeleteI love the polka dots!! Kayla, you're gorgeous!! :)
ReplyDeleteAh I love the cardigan, especially that double polka dot outfit!
ReplyDeleteAnd that royal blue color is gorgeous!
You are such a fabulous mother-daughter duo!
I skipped my prom, but our grad was extremely formal. I still have the dress, and still love it -- though I do wear it as Halloween costume!
ReplyDeleteLove her prom dress. My prom dress was pink probably no big surprise there. I hope you two are staying warm with all this snow we have been getting.
ReplyDeletei love that red with the polka dots heather! it really makes them pop! you both look nice. kayla picked a beautiful dress.

Aww! I love her prom dress! Mine was turquoise for senior prom, and I do still love it, but I feel sort of ridiculous that it hangs in the closet.
ReplyDeleteI also have that polka dot cardigan, and I love your remix looks! It is a super remixable item, so I bet you will find many other ways to wear it!
That prom dress is beautiful! I have a granddaughter who LOVES to play dress up and that is where my prom dresses are now. In the dress up pile! Of course, they are way to big for her, but we know we have a little fashionista on our hands. Love the ways you have used the cardigan!
ReplyDeleteI'm always a fan of polka dots paired with animal prints!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous dress! I'm so glad she went for full-length... I feel like every time I see prom dresses, they are getting shorter and shorter (and more and more revealing). Her dress is so classy!
ReplyDeleteI went to Prom twice- once I borrowed a dress from a friend (smart) and the other time I somehow convinced my mom to let me get a super expensive ($150?) dress. It was a beautiful dress, but I regret to this day that I made her spend so much on something I only got one wear out of.
awww this is cute!

Gorgeous choice of prom dress! The colour is a standout and I love how it fits in the bust. I also went dress-shopping this week....for a white dress....and found one!!! For obvious reasons I won't be showing it on the blog before I wear it ;)
ReplyDeleteMy high school prom dress was gold that sort of shimmered pinky-red when I walked. It had a lace-up peplum top (think 90s style though not 2013) and a big bubble skirt. I just had the top altered and hope to wear it on the blog!
